What to Expect From Florentine Restaurants

Even though it might sound played out, I must say that Florence is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Some even call it the most luxurious one. Its palaces, churches and museums are overfilled with paintings and sculptures by famous masters. Florence is the city where Renaissance was born, the city filled with the atmosphere of incomparable beauty and centuries of history. The look of the Cathedral of Florence against the background of the crowds of people fussing around makes one grasp for breath — truly a magnificent construction it is. Each street is filled with the spirit of the past. Da Vinci, Dante, Boccaccio, Michelangelo and Medici — such a great number of people come from Florence.

But those are not only its cultural attractions like The Duomo, the Fountain of Neptune and The Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) that attract great numbers of tourists to Florence. Visitors of one of the travel portals — tripadvisor, said that best restaurants are found in Florence, Paris and Rome. Let’s have a closer look at what dining options Florence offers.

Florence has a great number of restaurants, from small ones preparing traditional Tuscan dishes to exclusive offering best Italian and international food. The quality is good in most of them, though there might be some exceptions. Those who want to taste traditional food are advised to go to cheap or medium-priced cafes and restaurants: don’t forget that the secret of Florentine cuisine is in its simplicity and the excellent quality of its ingredients (olive oil in the first place). Surprisingly, the most expensive of them are aimed at local people, who dine at home and go eating outside mostly on special cases. That’s why they prefer delicious and creative dishes.

If you aren’t really hungry, you can have a snack at one of local pizzerias: there are a great number of them in Florence, but best pizza is prepared in Rome. Local bakeries sell tasty pizzas too. The choice of snacks is also great. Don’t want bread? Then go to one of local bars: food is no worse than in any Florentian restaurant. Bars are self-serviced: all you have to do is to take a tray, take the food you like and pay for it at the cash desk. Pasta is good, especially when served hot. Some restaurants serve nice complex dinners.

Dinner can cost even cheaper. Some Florentine bars and clubs offer free snacks for those who buy drinks after 7 or 8 pm. Just buy something to drink, and choose one of the snacks offered.

To cut the story short, Florentian food is a sacred thing. Gatsronomic impressions might become the topic for any talk, be it a business dinner or a romantic date. One could hardly name all the restaurants of Florence, but five of them are definitely worth mentioning. Those are the Alle Murate, minimalistic -style Beccofino with excellent views on the embankment, Buca Lapi serving delicious Tuscan dishes, four-halled Cibreo, and the legendary Da Sergi (which, by the way, serves complex dinners only).

Suggestions For Restaurants In Las Vegas?

I am headed to Vegas during the 3rd week of October with a few friends we are all female and in our mid to late 20’s. We are trying to plan a night that includes dinner at a somewhat “swanky” moderately priced restaurant. A place that doesn’t require a gown but also requires more than a pair of jeans and a t-shirt for dining attire. We really want to go to a trendy place with good food and good ambience. Type of food is flexible. We will be staying at the Paris so anything close to that would be ideal. Any suggestions?

What Are Those Restaurants In Paris Called Where You Dine And Singalong With Everyone? Can You Suggest Any?

I don’t know any single word or phrase to describe such a place. (There is an itch in the back of my mind that says there is but I can’t recall it just now….EDIT: do you mean “caberet”?)
There are several places I know of which have this sort of entertainment.
Chez Louisette, 130 Avenue Michelet, March Vernaison, Alle 10, Saint Ouen is at the flea market around the Porte de Clignancourt metro stop. I haven’t been there in a few years but they used to feature a nice little old lady who played the accordion and sang Edith Piaf type songs and traditional French music.
Aux Trois Mailletz at 56 rue Galand has a piano player and various singers. The crowd often joins in and the regulars include several people who will take a turn doing a few numbers (this includes yours truly).
Un piano sur le trottoir at 77 rue des Francs Bourgeois has, as its name says, a piano, and someone (often the owner) will start playing it when the dinner crowd has been served. People are encouraged to sing along.
Au Lapin Agile at 22 rue des Saules in Montmartre (website:http://www.au-lapin-agile.com/) gets more touristy every year but its been doing the traditional French caberet with audience participation for a very long time.

I Am Looking To Dine At Paris. However, I Am Looking For Restaurants That Have A View Of The Eiffel Tower.?

What I would like to mean is that instead of looking at Paris city from the Eiffel tower…a restaurant where we can dine with Eiffel Tower in the background…for example a restaurant at the top floor of a hotel ot building…Thank you

Bistros and Restaurants in Paris France

Gastronomy is taken very seriously in France and with the rich history for fine French cuisine, Paris is a city where you will find some of the Worlds finest chefs serving remarkable cuisine and you will find thousands of cafes and restaurants in Paris alone, ranging from the small bistro such as the Allard Bistro through to exceedingly plush restaurants.

Even at a small traditional restaurant like the Boeuf sur le Toit or at a fancy restaurant setting such as the Train Bleu, the quality of food is of the utmost of importance, but many places have to be booked prior and some require reservations weeks or even months in advance, like the Jules Verne at the Eiffel Tower!

When it comes to the type of cuisine, you have choices from all over the world such as the Blue Elephant which serves Thai dishes in beautiful surroundings, Brazilian food at the Brasil Tropical Cabaret and restaurant, Le Curieux Spaghetti Bar for true Italian delights, or the Tokyo Eat restaurant serving adventurous fusion cuisine.

There is so much variety to tempt your taste buds, yet obviously, it is the French food that really stands out in so many restaurants in Paris and some are in unusual surroundings like L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, 1970’s style Korova, the family restaurant Apollo or Altitude 95 in the Eiffel Tower and they vary in cost from only a few Euros to hundreds per person.

But if you want to splash out for that special occasion, the finest way of dining in Paris is with Haute cuisine, which is elaborate food preparation and presentation, and just some of the Michelin star rated Haute cuisine restaurants include the Le Grande Cascade close to the Longchamps horse racing, Guy Savoy, Taillevent, Le Grand Vefour and La Tour d’Argent, where you could be paying upwards of 250 Euros per person, but even the most expensive restaurants are cheaper for lunch than in the evening.

Now forgetting Haute cuisine, you will find most restaurants in Paris serving French cuisine have a Menu du Jour or a set menu of the day and this normally means the most reasonably priced meals, which change frequently depending upon what fresh produce is available.

Also, if you want to eat breakfast out it is likely to be at a Patisserie or Tea Salon where you can get croissants, bread, fillings like cold meats and cheeses, pastries and a nice cup of coffee and numerous places such as Angelina’s or Laduree, offer a choice of eating on the premises, or items to take away, but just one point worth mentioning is that many establishments add an additional charge to your bill if you decide to sit outside on their terrace, rather than inside.

When it comes to lunch, you will be able to find numerous different cafes and bistros whilst walking around Paris such as the Cafe Marly with a great view of the famous Louvre museum, and it may be an idea to mark these on a map so that you can find your next fuelling station!

As for the evening, meals are usually served from around 7.30pm and restaurants get far busier from around 9pm onwards.  Plus we would like to point out that Parisians do tend to dress up for an evening out and in most restaurants it is expected that you have a glass of wine or two with your meal, but bear in mind that a table wine can be just as expensive as many others on the wine list, as they are still of excellent quality.

And numerous different options are available for an evening meal like the cosy intimate setting of Au Bon Accueil, or perhaps you have been to a nightclub and need to eat in the early hours of the morning, then Au Pied de Cochon that is open 24/7 is a good choice, or you could choose the friendly atmosphere and smells of food cooking on a spit at the Atelier Maitre Albert or contemporary cuisine at Spoon Food and Wine, but you also have cabaret venues where you can enjoy a meal and watch a cabaret show such as at the World famous Moulin Rouge.

And after all this eating out in Paris enjoying the fabulous cuisine on offer, it just may not be the same when you get home!

Please let me know if you have any info.

Is it possible to fit 3 weeks worth of clothes into a backpack? I’m going to Paris?

paris
Grey asked:

I’m going to Paris for 3 weeks. I’m a girl and I usually wear so many clothes! Besides bringing clothes for everyday walking and sight-seeing, I also need to bring a few formal pieces and heels for going to restaurants. Not to forget my laptop and all the normal travel stuff. Will I be able to fit them all into a backpack or should I just bring a suitcase?

Can you recommend a good four day itinerary for Paris for to women in their 20s?

paris
Leslie L asked:

First time to Paris; will be staying in the Latin Quarter. Want to see a good deal of the sights and museums but also have time for shopping, relaxing, eating good food, and drinking wine. Not too interested in the party scene, but maybe a couple good clubs. Also interested in art galleries. Recommendations for restaurants and reasonably priced clothing boutiques would be great! Also, any information on good markets. Will be there first of June. Thanks!
